A Bone to Pick

Brothers Sachin and Bhavin Dhupelia are mixing it up in Miami in their shop Inzamia, pronounced in-zá-mia, which brings together furnishings from three different continents. The name, which was coined by the owners, brothers Sachin and Bhavin Dhupelia, pays homage to the places they have called home—India, South Africa and Miami. Their wares include ethnically-inspired furniture, traditional Indian carvings, British- and Dutch-Colonial items and artful accessories. Their wide selection on inlaid furniture is especially captivating, including this bone inlay chair with hand caning that sells for $1,372. Plan for a 12- to 16-week delivery time once a 50% deposit has been made, and customize it to suit your wishes.

“If clients bring us images of pieces they like, we can create our own interpretations of them,” says Bhavin. “While we’re manufacturing pieces, we send clients photos during the different stages of development.” Sachin adds, “Seeing this evolution provides our clients with a sense of pride and the pieces become talking points in their homes.” See the full story about how the brothers serendipitously fell into the business on my Examiner page.
